My holiday finishes with a quick two day visit to, almost, the rest of the Outer Hebrides. These islands consist of, from north to south, Berneray, North Uist, Grimsay, Benbecular, South Uist and Eriskay. They have the fraction of the population of the much larger Lewis & Harris to the north and fewer mountains. And as much as I never got those islands I really like these and it's probably the most friendly place I've ever visited. Quiet, relaxing, friendly and some stunning scenery - definitely worth another visit in the future but probably from Skye or Oban rather than Harris.

The visit to the Uists was all to brief and with, finally, some decent weather it was onto the morning ferry to Skye and the start to returning home. A quick circuit around Skye and the across to Inverness was the order of the day on Bank Holiday Monday. A lovely trip but after coming off the Outer Hebrides it's back in the world of idiot drivers and midlife crisis males on their overpowered motorbike.
For Tuesday the decent weather disappeared and I had a dull trip down to Greenock. In hindsight I would probably have simply gone home in one or two days from North Uist. As it is I will hit the road early tomorrow and head home. The diet starts again tomorrow :)
